Frogs  
Frogs go through several stages of development. This frog is almost an adult and is referred to as a metamorph. It is able to hop and breathe air, and its tail will soon be reabsorbed and it will become an adult frog. A backwater off the main stem of the Hudson River. The green plants covering the surface of the water are duck weed. Two metamorphs being prepared for contaminant analysis. Tadpoles collected for chemical analyses are individually labeled and wrapped in aluminum foil prior to being frozen. An adult bullfrog. A fish pond in front of the NYDEC Hale Creek Field Station. Water lily along the bank of the Hudson River. Lily pads often provide habitat for frogs. Nets are used to collect tadpoles by scooping them along the bottom of the river.
